THE EXPERIENCE OF SHARING LEADERSHIP

It isn't easy learning to work collaboratively with others and it takes on-going effort.  Staff describe their experiences in making this way of working a success, the dangers involved and sustaining this leadership approach.

DISCOMFORT

I have had to " push through the comfort zone, this can make me feel anxious and I may feel growing pains at times but that is exactly what it is".

AVOIDING OLD LEADERSHIP HABITS AND MAINTAINING THIS WAY OF WORKING.

"I think the hardest part is stopping yourself from falling into traditional models of project delivery".

" There are times when you feel that people don't want this empowerment and responsibility and look to you for some traditional command and control". 

MAINTAINING THIS WAY OF WORKING.

" It needs to be reinforced.  People can slip back into their old ways of working"

" New staff need to be made aware of it.  It can be difficult integrating to this new way of working.
